Akbar the great

Babar found the Moghul dynasty in India. He and his son Humayun conquered most of the present day northern India. They both considered that Indians were barbarians. Akbar was the son of Humayun. But he fell in love with Indian culture. He was perhaps the first king who thought that that the two great religions of Hinduism and Islam should understand each other. He started a movement called Din ela hi, towards this aim. At that time he even held talks with Portuguese missionaries who arrived at his court. He was of course a great warrior too.
