Gauthama Buddha

He was a prince called Sidhartha. His parents brought him up in such a way, that he never went outside the house. They got him married to a princess called Yasodhara. A son called Rahul was born to them. During this time, Sidhartha was taken outside in a chariot. There he saw for the first time, poverty, misery, sorrow and death. He wanted to know why God made these things. That night he ran away from home and started to search answers for his questions. At last he found them under a banyan tree. From then onwards he was called Buddha or the enlightened one. He taught people who came to him, what he knew. His followers were called Buddhists. This remarkable religion is one of the largest religions in the world and preaches “Ahimsa Paramo Dharma.”, which means, “The greatest religion is non cruelty to all beings.”
