The great religion of Hinduism somehow became one with several foolish beliefs. The religious people supported such beliefs, though it was hurting them. The British, who were ruling India, were not bothered to bring in reforms. A great man from Bengal called Ishwara Chandra Vidhya Sagar almost waged a lone battle. He wanted that widows should be permitted to remarry. He wanted that children should not be forced to marry .He achieved his dream and made the British bring in such reforms. The religious reforms in India started with this great Indian.
