Jawaharlal Nehru(Panditji)

If Mahatma Gandhi got us our independence, it was Jawaharlal Nehru, the scholar , who taught us how to rule ourselves. He was a great visionary and also a very great writer. He chose some of the greatest minds of that time as ministers and introduced the concept of planning. He was instrumental in building many dams and starting some of the biggest industries in the world in India. He was our first Prime Minister and continued to occupy the post till his death. But for him, India would have deteriorated with squabbles and quarrels. He loved children and considered that , the future of India lay in them. The Children called him Chacha and his birthday(November 14th) is celebrated as Children’s day in India.
